A Nature Lover’s Paradise
If you have a love of nature, don’t miss the beautiful Herring Cove Provincial Park. This plush landscape on scenic Campobello Island offers multiple hiking trails where you will be surrounded by nature. Don’t be surprised when you spot wildlife and birdlife as you cross log bridges and discover the forest of ancient spruce. You can even explore an old logging road that was once used by the Roosevelts.
Speaking of the Roosevelts, the Herring Cove Provincial Park Golf Course is located just minutes from the late U.S. president Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s cottage. Tucked into the park, this 9-hole course was designed by Canadian-born golf course architect Geoffrey Cornish and includes many challenging holes. Parts of the course overlook the mile long beach and offer stunning views. During your round, you may see a bald eagle flying overhead or even moose far off along the fairways. The course offers many amenities including a pro shop, rentals, carts a driving range and lessons. Visit the Herring Cove Restaurant for delicious local fare after a day of golf or hiking the trails.
